Recently, Japanese operator NTT deployed the world's first 5G coverage scene based on "glass antenna" in Hiroshima TV Building.
The "glass antenna" is said to be made of a transparent conductive film material, which is both concealed and beautiful.
As early as 2019, NTT began to deploy "glass antenna", however, it only supported 4G frequency band at that time. The deployed "glass antenna" supports 5G frequency band.
In terms of parameters, this "glass antenna" supports the 5G frequency band of 3.6-3.7GHz/4.5-4.6GHz, and supports 4×4 MIMO, covering about 100-200m, with a length of 843mm, a width of 185mm and a weight of 2kg.
Deployment mode
1:This "glass antenna" mainly faces two kinds of coverage scenes: indoor coverage and street coverage.
2:For indoor coverage, it can be deployed on the ceiling, door frame, etc. as a room antenna.
3:For outdoor street coverage, it can be fixed on the inner side of the window antenna, and it can call out through the window to cover the street.
The "glass antenna" is installed on the glass window through a transparent bracket to maximize concealment and beauty, and is connected to RRU through a radio frequency cable.
In order to better cover the outdoor streets, the "glass antenna" solution adds an interface layer called GIL(Glass Interface Layer) between the window glass and the "glass antenna".
